News Berwyn High School Students Build Habitats Eight high school students from Berwyn Presbyterian Church in College Park took part in the church's annual summer workcamp in early July, donating their labor to charity. This year's camp consisted of working for the Alcona County (Va.) Chapter of Habitat for Humanity, which builds inexpensive housing for lower-income families. The youth and two Berwyn adults worked for ten days at five sites. One of their projects was to paint the house and garage of "Grandpa Joe," whose wife was dying of lung cancer; the group helped ready the house for sale. ©1997 Heather Elizabeth Peterson |
