News Ex-Gay Coalition Holds Its First International Conference
Toronto, Canada, became the site this month of the first international conference of Exodus International, a network of ministries whose purpose is to help Christians who wish to free themselves from homosexuality. The Evangelical Press reports that nearly 200 delegates from around the world attended the conference, which was held from September 11 to 13. "This historic conference will set the direction for Exodus Ministries as we approach 2000 A.D.," said Peter Lane, director of Exodus South Pacific. "We see that the church is God's healing agent for the world, therefore Exodus needs to work in partnership with the church. So, it is very encouraging that the church is realizing the vision of Exodus; that sexual redemption is part of the gospel message of salvation. When Jesus died on the cross, he died for all our needs, including our sexuality." ©1997 Heather Elizabeth Peterson |
